90's nostalgia
Game Plan
Being 90's kids, along with being in our 30's it was only a matter of time before we talked about the unforgettable decade that shaped most of todays inner workings! The generation that had to adapt as technology advanced rapidly. millennials, knowing how to hold a conversation in person and also over social media. But we decide to talk about cartoons instead!
Hey, everyone, welcome Ben. Hello.
Everyone another week and we're here.
Everyone is doing OK, everyone's having a great weekend so.
Far we hope, at least. I can only hope I mean.
That's a hope. How's your week going Ian, or
how was your week? It was all right.
I mean, no, actually, the whole. Let me think about that.
It was kind of irritating, honestly.
Irritating slightly. Yeah.
Because like you tell. So remember the call center job
that I got? Yeah.
Like no more. Yeah, because guess what?
My background check came back and I thought background checks
were only supposed to look for felonies, not misdemeanors.
You poor thing. I know.
So I'm so sorry. It's all right.
And like I'm trying to like dispute it, but I have to wait
for a letter in the mail from the company that did the
background check. So I'm waiting for that letter
to mail it back and be like, hey yo no what about my employment
guys? But beyond that?
Did you really like the job or is maybe this like a blessing in
disguise? I look, you think it was a
blessing in disguise because it later, like in the next day, on
like Tuesday, the day I was like the day after I was supposed to
start that call center job, I had an interview with FINA
Behavioral and Health. OK.
And the interview went great. They loved me like they offered.
Like I got the e-mail for the offer letter literally the same
day. Perfect.
See this does it does happen sometimes.
So it was low key in a blessing in disguise.
But now I have to go through all that training again with, you
know, like the 40 hour training for behavioral health.
It's a lot. It's more than 40 hours.
Honestly, they just say 40 hours.
So it makes a full work week, but it's a lot more.
Well, I hope everything works out with that on that end.
And you you're a weak. Well, I completely lied to
myself on if you wanna know the truth.
About the being a kid or about being.
I really thought I was all grown up.
I thought, I never thought that childhood nostalgia would reach
me peak childhood nostalgia would ever make its way to me.
And it did. It absolutely did.
Was it in the lied to myself? Was it in the form of the song
or was it in the form of like, just like you're saw some kids
wearing chokers? It is.
The entire fact that my favorite song from the 2000's, The
Eighteens, made a comeback single, it is iconic.
I iconic. Are those lyrics?
Those are. Oh my dear God, is that really
it? It is.
Oh, it is. You don't see.
You just don't know the eighteens.
You don't. You're not familiar.
You weren't. There are.
They like a theatre group. No, they're not a theatre group.
They are a Swedish pop band that brought back all the good ABBA
songs. And yes Baba yeah, I'm say I'm
going to say ABBA. Everyone corrects me.
I don't care. I like to say I can't change it
now. I.
Honestly think it's the Wisconsin in you or the.
No, because back then back back home, everybody still corrects
me. They just ABBA.
They still say ABBA over there, but yeah, even over in Chicago.
Chicago. Too.
Yeah, I think I've had a lot of people say ABBA to me.
I still just, I can't I say ABBA.
It's OK. I pronounce bacon weird, so it's
OK. There's more than one way to say
bacon. Not really.
What do you say, bacon? Bacon Bop.
Who said what the fuck? Says Bacon.
I do isolate it just for like a little twist.
I'm just like, did you? Take a trip to London at one
point and then that they just, they just stuck.
No, you hooked up with a Brit. Never mind, it's little.
Australian babe. It's Australian, my Australian.
Australian makes more sense. I love the Australian.
But we're talking about the Swedes right now.
Hello, this is Vedish people. That that, and they actually
don't sound like that. I know they speak with British
accents. I know the eighteens do speak
English. Anyways, they did come out with
a new single. They are actually working on
making their way to Eurovision, which is, you know, the big like
American Idol for Europe, except it's even bigger over there.
I don't know how or why, but it's staying on it.
It's a huge cultural phenomenon over.
There it is, and the Eighteens are competing for their spot in
the Eurovision competition. The prelims right now.
Or yeah, they actually just won the heat round and they're going
into the finals. This is a big festival in Sweden
where they. Yeah, it's like they just, they
pick their favorite song and it's just a whole process.
It's called Melody Festival in is the name of the hit.
Of the song that they're doing or the fair that they're.
No, that's the festival Melody. Festival then that's the name of
it. Festival in, Festival in.
That's the whole. That's the whole actual name.
I like how they say the word festival festival.
Festival in. So yeah, they won the heat round
and they are going into the finals.
Yeah, they just, they're on their way to making it.
They already made a comeback in my eyes, I think.
I mean, this is a comeback. I mean, I just, I wanna see them
win. OK, Speaking of comebacks,
though, I'm very disappointed. Why?
Hilary Duff is Hilary Duff released our album.
Yeah, I know she never was the biggest like.
She wasn't the best singer. She was more of an actress that.
They which is great singing, which was great, but she's like,
I have one more album. So like, I was really holding
out for this album. Yeah.
I was hoping it would be somewhat like Sparks or My Kind.
Is it bad? Hillary, I really hope you don't
listen to this eventually, but like it's I'm.
I expect terrible. I expect nothing less from
Hillary. She was.
It was terrible. They always forced her into
being a pop *. I'm sorry, but like, hey now,
that one song was like it was. It was a bop.
Hey now, hey now. Yeah, that one, that one was
about dreaming. That one was about, was that
Hillary? Yes, that was Hillary.
That was Miss Hillary. It does.
I must be confusing with a different song that uses like
the word like dreams are made of.
I don't know, but that was Miss Hillary.
OK, I actually it is starting to come back.
Since I was speaking, since we're speaking out.
Nostalgia. I, I think, I think, I think
Hilary Duff has more fun making fun of her dance.
The the dance routine that everyone makes fun of where she
just puts no effort into it whatsoever.
She was on like Good Morning America.
Oh yeah, that's, that's great. She, I mean she did, had no
effort. She put no effort, had no head
in the game for that song and then that dance.
And now she has more fun making fun of it and does it does it
better that she she did back then.
It's so funny. I it's hysterical.
I I'm glad to see Hilary Duff having a moment fun actually
just being happy. She we have to give Hillary
credit. Oh, I give her all the credit,
like for not going crazy. I was just gonna say that yes,
absolutely. Hilary Duff is the only the only
one that I can really think of. Christy Carlson Romano would be
another one that I can think of that I really didn't ever lose
her mind. But she wasn't as big as
Hillary. She.
She would have been Ren on Even Stevens.
She never really. Lost.
She was impossible. I mean, we all know Shia
Labeouf's an absolute fucking train.
Wreck. I thought he was homeless now.
I he looks like it. Did you hear about like the New
Orleans and the Mardi Gras thing?
Oh God, he's a shit show. I'm not surprised he's been
arrested, let out, arrested again and he's homophobic and.
Of course he is. Gay men or something at Oh, it's
a disaster anyways. Poor.
Guy they all go crazy at some point except for Hilary Duff.
Yeah. We have to give her a lot of.
Credit. I give her all the credit in the
world. She still looks great.
And after having like two or three kids, she had kids.
Yeah, she's had kids. Haven't kept that.
She's had kids. I haven't kept that.
It was so funny too. She had an interview one time
and she was talking about like, her kids.
And they were like, do your kids know who you are?
And she's telling the story about her one son, like, finally
discovered who she was. And he was like, I know who you
are. You're kind of like, it was so
funny. I don't know why, but she was,
like, explaining the story. It was just so cute.
It was adorable. But yeah, she had like two kids.
The Funny OK, so that reminds me of a Funny Story with Allison
Hannigan from the American Pie movies and How I Met your Mother
and all that out the redhead. You know what we're talking
about, right? OK, go.
That makes this so much easier. I do.
So I guess she was out with her kids in public and she hates
when people bring up the one time at band camp joke.
Jesus Christ, that's almost every.
And she says she's like, you would be surprised.
I forget where she was on an interview with Jimmy Fallon or
one of those famous guys. Yeah, and she said just her
biggest pet peeve. And it drives her nuts when
she's in public and people want to come up and talk about day at
van camp, one day at van camp. And she's just like, he ha ha.
OK. Dying inside.
Come on. Like dying inside, like Jesus
Christ, you're so bad for that. She's.
But I think she handles it like a champ.
She handles it in the most Allison Hannigan way you can
possibly handle it. True.
Apparently she's just just as cute as she is on TV.
That's adorable. Thank God for consistency.
Yeah. So no, I, I, the eighteens
really ushered in a whole lot of nostalgia for me lately.
I really, really lied to myself about this.
Like, I really just want to go back and begin and start over
again. It was so fun back in the 90s,
really. We played, we went outside.
Oh, I know that. We didn't sit on tablets inside
and everything. Yeah, we had gaming systems and.
Everything we had, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo I.
Was a cute guy. I love the cute.
I did love the cute. I feel like it was very unusual.
It was very niche I. Don't it was niche.
Yeah, I guess that's a good way to say it.
So, but like I just, I think the nostalgia hits harder when you
think of there's no you go around the neighborhood, there's
no. Literally no one.
There's literally no one. And you know, growing up you
would see a house, there's always one house with like 10
bikes sitting outside, roller blades, everything.
Ours wasn't. See that?
Ours wasn't the house. Ours was like those giant green
electrical boxes. Like we would all just gather
around those giant ass like green electrical boxes and we
would just hang out on those supreme boxes like every single
day. And also like when I was like.
That's really all there is to do in Vegas.
No, of course not. Of course not.
That was just like during like middle school or something.
I was guess just like electrical boxes.
No, that's that's it. That's electrical boxes.
But you contribute to this conversation.
Yeah, you're on electrical boxes.
Add more. Really.
No. To add more so I had SO.
Sorry listeners will. Shut up a little work on this.
So I had this one best friend. She's still like my best friend
to this day. Her name is Callie.
Hi Callie. She, her and I, like I would go
to her house like almost every day and we would like kind of
basically have therapy sessions, but we would just literally walk
around the block like 50 times. And like her parents were so
cool with me. Like I stayed over like almost
every like there was one night just eating her toast at 2:00 AM
and her dad was just like who came down?
He was like, it's you OK, it's fine.
Thinking I was like some other guy he was about to have throw a
shit fit and he was just like, no, it's just you.
You're fine, You're cool. See, when I was growing up, we
were in a brand new subdivision. It was like ours was part of
like, like the 2000s housing boom, I guess.
Like right in the 2000s when they all started just building
homes everywhere, big giant subdivisions.
At least this was all over in Mervyn, Illinois.
There was just huge housing. Developments same in big.
Subdivisions, same in, yes, it was everywhere.
So everyone kind of moved in at the same time and it was all
families and we all just happened to be around the same
age. Same.
So yeah, we kind of all kind of grew up together at the same
time in the same subdivision. And it's kind of fun to go back
to that subdivision because you can well, of course, but like
just to see how how much everything has grown, all the
landscape and all the trees, all the brush it just like you can
actually tell how old the subdivision is just by looking
at the trees. Yes, you can.
So that brings me to another story of deer.
OK, so in my subdivision when I was driving home on day, granted
this is a little like like early 2000s, just past the nights, but
early 2000s I was driving home and like on my neighborhood, you
have to like it's like an E kind of a shape.
So there's like one straight away.
And then there's a whole bunch of streets that like branch off
of it. So one of those streets, one of
those corner houses, one of the corner houses, their daughter
like ran like sprinted out in front of my car and I almost hit
her. I didn't thank God, but she's
like sprinted out in front of my car.
And the dad was like infuriated. I was just like, dude, she came
in front of me. So you need to teach your
daughter better. But they were still so mad about
me almost hitting her daughter. So the next a week goes by and
there's a new speed limit sign buying their house that says to
eat lament is 17 mph. This means you with a million
exclamation points under it. And it was tied up with just
regular rope to a light post next to their house.
Gosh. So the day I was like, we were
moving out of that house, I cut it down and I've had it ever
since until I was robbed and I had that sign for a while.
I had to like hanging up on my wallet everything for a while.
I was driving around the subdivision one time after I got
my license and I saw this guy with his shirt off.
And so I was like circling around the block again to see
him. And I was like my best friend's
dad. I'm like, oh, whoops, sorry,
Earl. Goodbye, Earl.
He was dad. He was daddy as fuck.
I mean, is it bad that I? Hi, Earl, if you're listening.
I mean, I've seen a lot of those videos.
Just saying. I did.
I circled the block because I was like, God, who is that?
And the new guy that said. Best friend's dad, Hi.
It's just Chelsea's dad, best friend's dad.
Hi dad. So in these, in the subdivision,
in these new homes, what are in this new home?
What were you watching? Like what, what was like your
favorite TV? Do you like old sitcoms?
Cuz like, what am I the segue? When I think of 90s and 2000s
TVI think of sitcoms. Sitcoms were a big one, sure.
Yeah. I don't know cuz I was, yeah.
What were you watching? Like, as far as like as far as
like sitcoms go. Sitcoms.
Yeah. Like what sitcoms?
If you weren't watching sitcoms, what other stuff were you
watching? So as far as like Saturday
morning cartoons, there was I have like a list.
I never did the Saturday morning cartoons.
I know we had cable Nickelodeon. I never.
Like I had Nickelodeon too, but like.
I know, but it wasn't that for like only if you had like
antenna like you had to do the Saturday morning because that
was the only time that cartoons would be on Saturday morning.
If you had the. Four or five channel antenna.
I don't I don't know that part, but like so Saturday morning
cartoons, I have a list. There was this one called
Shaolin Showdown. It was so much wise, the Shaolin
Showdown. It was about like, it was
basically like what? Channel.
Was that on? It was I was either it was no
Cartoon Network, I didn't I don't know.
It was something. So it was basically like Avatar
and like peewee version like it doesn't make sense like.
No. No.
Nothing. Avatar.
Was that OK, so there. I remember.
So you're not talking Avatar? Like not the blue.
People, the blue people. You're talking Avatar the
Airbender vendor. Yeah, right.
OK, which let's watch that. It was a but I know what you're
talking about. The guy with the arrow on his
head. Yeah, that was a part of my list
though my Saturday. Cartoon.
That was very Cartoon Network. I was more Nickelodeon.
OK. So Nicola, OK.
So then what kind of shows were you watching on Nickelodeon?
On Nickelodeon, definitely SpongeBob.
Definitely a ton of SpongeBob. I think.
I think I've mentioned this before, yes.
That way that I had watched SpongeBob a little bit as I've
gotten older. You said it doesn't it doesn't
hit, it doesn't hit the same. I mean, I still love it though,
Like I still love growing up. It was so fun.
But Scooby was another one and I could actually still watch
Scooby Scooby just see the live action, the cartoon, a pop named
scooby-doo, if anyone even knows that one.
Those are all really. I just I wish that they would
keep coming out with more Scooby live action movies or cartoons.
I think there are more cartoons, but there's it's different
animation voices, it's fun and fun.
It all changes. You know, it's like a fun fact.
So ever since the live action Scooby-doo movies in like 2002
thousand whatever the guy who plays Shaggy, they asked him to
voice every Scooby-doo cartoon since he has been Shaggy has
been Shaggy since they love it. That No, I think I did know
that. I forget his name, but he is.
The only other thing I saw him in is he was the killer in the
screen in the very first screen movie.
Was he? Yeah, he was.
OK, so while we're on it, I'm over.
No, I'm a why? That's my that's one of my
favorite franchise. Halloween's my favorite
franchise. I'm done, but.
Screen, you're done. On screen, I'm done.
Now Campbell's coming back. Yeah, that's the problem.
He's back again. After how long?
I didn't have Campbell's the lead actress.
I know. Just no, I'm sorry.
They have beep. I'm sorry.
I can't. They have milked.
They have milked this cow for as long as they have.
I agree with that discussed. They need to stop.
And they brought Jenna Ortega in, thinking she was going to be
kind. Of the revital.
Ushering then this new era, right?
She's no I. I do have to agree.
Courtney Cox is my birthday twin.
So I anything she teaches turn to cope.
Congratulations me, Cox is my birthday twin.
Congratulations. Same year or that's different
years, different years, right, because she's a lot of the
definitely yeah, I'm not for seeing you sorry, but no, yeah,
I'm over. I'm over scream scream can I'm
scream franchise. I'm sorry.
I'm over. You guys need to stop because
like they have like, I'm sorry at this point.
And there's only so many storylines you can do with that,
right? With that kind I know.
And I'm sorry, the last one that I don't know if it was the last
one or I don't know, but the one where they went New York and
they. And they didn't have Campbell in
that. One, No, they didn't.
She she was insulted by what they were gonna pay her.
I was so I don't know, there's a sense of realism that needs to
happen with these scary movies, I feel.
And with Strained they lost touch with it.
Their like realistic point of view as far as like on how to
make a scary movie actually scary because.
It's all been done. Before it's all been done.
I think it's all been done by this point.
It's all been done. Also, if you were in like, a
bodega in New York with just a knife and there's officers,
like, shooting at you, I'm sorry, you're gonna die.
There's no way you're just gonna be able to, like, walk out,
like, free. And the same thing with the
Halloween movies too. I do love Halloween still, and I
just keep watching them over and over as they come out.
I really do. But how many times?
Are we going to have the same story?
Like how? Many times are we going to kill
Mike Myers and he's just going to come back.
Can I say though, I do like his origin story.
I don't know what movie it was but it was his origin story 1.
I think it was the remake of the first one.
Are you talking about Halloween? I think so, yeah.
Yeah. Rob the Rob Zombie remake I
think is what the. One with Jamie Lee Curtis.
She's an all of them, I think. Or almost all of them.
Well, good for her, but like the one where she's like an older
woman and she has like a daughter who's a nurse.
I think that's the remake. I'm pretty sure that that's and
that is a good one. I do have to agree.
That was great. It it that one totally
revitalized Halloween. Absolutely.
I I do get what you're saying about Scream, though.
It is. We are getting to a point.
No, we're past the point, but the money's coming in.
Otherwise they wouldn't be doing it.
I know still eating it up. I.
I don't see it's wild to me the fact that people are still.
I mean, it's not wild honestly, because people won't buy
anything. True.
But like, can we not think of a new mask?
Can we? Can we not, can we try to get
some creativity, like put teeth in the mask or something?
I don't know. I don't know, give it eyebrows
something. Ghost Face needs some veneers.
Yeah, that'll solve everything. Give them a good brow.
An arch bitch brow. It'd be great if you kind.
But see, I, I just, they, they built a name for themselves a
long time ago and they're still riding that high and you gotta
applaud them. I mean, I mean, going on how
many years? I wear a 20. 30 years or
something that this has been going going on and fun fact, did
you know apparently even if this isn't true, I found out though
that even if it isn't true, it's still funny.
I found out that Drew Barrymore, I guess there what like the
phone on stage was actually I guess hooked up or something.
And she actually did call 911 and they wanted to respond to
her because they thought that they was actually was actually
like being killed. And she was supposed to be Neve
Campbell's partner. She was supposed to be Sydney
Prescott, I guess. And she turned down.
I forgot why she turned it down, but I I still like calling.
Oh, she was that that opening scene of Scream is one of the
most iconic scenes in cinematic history.
Yeah. Cinematic, cinematic.
OK, cinematic history. Yeah, no, it definitely is.
But I guess she actually did call like 911 and like the phone
was actually like hot. It was there was actually
someone on the other end that's. Funny.
Actually, it's kind of. Funny, but it is one of the IT
is the best start to a horror movie.
I absolutely agree. Back to the Halloween 1, the
revamped one. That was a good start too.
I feel. I feel so bad.
I felt for Michael like I liked his.
Sponsors are created. I liked his origin story.
I I I it. It reminds me of the part in
Wicked. Are people born wicked or do
they have wickedness thrust upon them?
So about wicked like sidebar. That's millennial.
Let's say Wicked is early 2000s. That that falls in line with the
topic. Sure, why not.
But real quick segue. So when I went to go see it, and
so the first wicked one, I went to go see it in the first.
Wicked was good. I had no expectations, so I was
delightfully surprised when I was actually.
Decent. Did you actually know what was
going on in Wicked though? Like the first seen the musical?
Did you know anything about Wicked?
The only thing I know about Wicked is that, like, way back
when I was younger, we, our choir director, was in the
Broadway's production of Mamma Mia and she loved Wicked.
So she tried to like have like the youths do, like off, off,
off. It was a trained right.
It was awful. It was terrible.
But she thought, how old? I was like 10 or 12, maybe 14 at
oldest. I don't know.
So the only thing that I have like, no, we're not gonna do
laughs, no. Aw.
No, not no. He just.
Slapped my hand away from. The still, I mean, because it
wasn't worthy of a laugh, but anyways, so that was the only
thing I that was the only knowledge of really that I had
of wicked was her fail, not failed, but her off, off, off,
off, off probably. That is a horrible introduction
to one of the best private productions of all time.
And the way they like, the way it was like explained to me back
then, I was like, oh, it's like the witch's story.
I was like, OK, well, why do we want to do that?
Like I don't get why this story was already been told but then
it's a. Powerful back back story.
I guess it completely revolutionizes your viewpoint.
As far as the wicked. On the Wicked Witch.
So that being said, I went to go see it.
I was delightfully surprised and when I went so I was
delightfully surprised. So when the second one for good
came out, I was at least expecting the same caliber as
far as quality goes. From your performance.
From like the SO from my from me watching the first one 2, I had
like that as like a standard for at least the okay second one for
good. The second one, second one is a
shit show. The second one your disappointed
in your. Choir band that you had could
have done a better job than disappointed than the second.
So disappointed they were so. Disappointed.
So disappointed. I I think I I realized why they
had to do it. The second part.
Well, what they what I mean by what I mean by that is they had
to they had to put in a lot of love jumbo fluff.
They had to fluff it up. They had to really kind of see
add in because the second first of all, if you want to breakdown
me, here's the thing. If you want to breakdown musical
theater, the first act is always the best.
There's a given there is. That's a given.
It is a specific formula to musicals for some reason.
The first act is always the best.
The second there the the last song of the first act is always
the finale sound. That's always the Best Song.
The finale song of the first act is always the Best Song of the
whole music. And in this case, it was defying
gravity. Which is always which is defying
gravity. And then and then there's always
like a empowering kind of song about 1520 minutes into the show
as well of the first act. So you have the a power anthem
and the finale. Well, the wizard denies and
that's very common, about 1520 minutes to show.
Then they put in a real banger to like hook it in.
This is all pretty normal musical stuff.
Music musical, kind of like the timelines.
Yeah, the origins of like how it's made the timeline of a of a
musical. And the second act sucks.
The second act is just cleaning up the first act.
The second act usually is just. It's just clean the cleanup.
I felt OK, so I think they kept it too close to the theatre 1 to
the theatre version because I felt like they'd had so much
potential, like as far as like going from like the Wizard of Oz
and the first Wicked and like even the book, like they had so
much to go off of as far as like the second movie went like the
entire like Tin man story in the book.
He's like a murderer. Like he's a murderer.
Like he's. AI know I've actually read the
book the actual Wizard of Oz. I've actually read the real
book. The the tin man is actually like
the hero. I mean he's he's murderous.
Actually, you're right. He like he literally he's an axe
murderer actually in the book and he's actually like a hero.
The Tin Man is everything in the book book.
In the book. He really is.
Although I do have to give it up to what was Ethan Slater,
whatever his name is, who played who, who played him in the
movie? Ethan Slater, right?
The. Tin Man, Bach.
The tin? Yeah, Bach, I don't know, but
that's actually Ariana's real boyfriend or something.
Good for them. Anyways, besides the point I.
Can do so much better, OK. Anyways, I mean, have you
actually seen him? He's wrapped like he's ripped.
Not my type. Not my type either, but he's
ripped so anyways, and he's also short too, so it's kind of like
a good like anyways, I know it's not for you.
He's dating Ari anyways. But like I was actually kind of
like I was happy with his performance in the second one
because like I would be pissed too.
I was just turned to fucking aluminum.
Like fucking I'm angry too, bitch.
And I will say I hated, I hated, I hated Nessa in the second
part. She became a whiny bitch.
This movie gave a lot of character to her whereas the the
the actual theatre show. She's hardly mentioned.
Really. Not really, no.
Yeah, She's not really in it a whole lot.
I mean this one really, I guess my thing is how many people have
read the book or books there that second act, I've read the
book and I still don't even know where some of that stuff.
It must not have been the Wizard of Oz book.
It has to be like the Wicked Witch.
I guess these are the wicked books.
But how many people have actually read these books?
Not many that know what is going on in that second.
In that second, not many, not many.
So no one. It was just kind of this mumbo
jumbo of just kind of the the show and the book.
I felt like I didn't play catch up every scene.
It wasn't. I didn't.
I didn't care for it and I didn't see why other people did.
But the the second act of a musical isn't very long.
It's just the cleanup from the first act.
So you maybe have 45 minutes. That's not enough time for a
movie. I mean, they were able to like
make it out to two hours, so. Yeah, they had to fluff the fuck
out of. It, but they also fluffed the
fuck out of the first one too. That first one stayed pretty
close. It was.
It was. Really close to the to the.
But there was only one show. But there was a lot of cinematic
choices that could have been like at least trimmed by like a
good 30 seconds. I don't know.
You know that girl in the bubble song with Arias?
Unnecessary. Awful, not unnecessary.
It was boring. It was Ari.
You can do so much, but she, she is a pop star.
It was just, it wasn't a pop song.
It wasn't a pop ballad. It wasn't.
It wasn't. It was not anything.
It wasn't anything. It was just there for fluff.
It was. Just there to also the placement
of it takes. Space, like you were literally
out on the balcony looking at all these fucking mobs and kill
her, melt her, whatever. And you're just like, go in,
look into a mirror and talk about a bubble.
Your best friend's like there's mobs wanting to kill your best
friend. I just wanted more from the
song. The song was flat it.
Was boring. There was no climax.
No climax there was. No peak.
It was just boring. I didn't care for that one.
But no, that that was a bad one that I did not care for that
whole. Movie.
Anyway back-to-back to nostalgic 90s.
What other shows did you watch? Because when I was growing up
with the cartoon versions, like, yeah, sitcoms were like a thing.
Which I will say iCarly popped. I just like iCarly as a sitcom.
OK. That was Nickelodeon, right?
I think so, yeah. OK.
So I swear I must have missed the Nickelodeon teenager shows.
Because that was a wave, OK? She was like Drake and Josh.
I missed it all, iCarly missed it all, missed it all.
Victorious. Had no idea who Ariana Grande
was, what character she played until she came out with her.
She problems. Yeah, so she just started
singing music and just started performing live.
Yeah, that was when I found out who Ariana Grande was.
Everyone's like, oh, you don't know who she is.
I'm like no and no. She was cat in Vic.
I missed all of those Nickelodeon preteen shows.
I did all the cartoons, all of them.
I wasn't allowed to watch Ren and Stimpy.
My mom did not want me watching Ren and Stimpy.
That was kind of a dirty show when you look back at it.
My. Parents.
My mom didn't want me. She didn't want me to watch Ed.
Ed and Eddie, my mom, I think it was.
Cartoon Network, my mom didn't. No, I see.
That was Cartoon Network. I never got interesting.
Cartoon Network, she never had to.
Cartoon Network, she's never had to monitor that one.
My mom didn't monitor a lot of TV actually.
My my mom, did she like it wasn't even my fault though.
So the younger brother, the one that's has the nephew here, so
it was his fault why we got like, literally like.
Dumb. Do tell.
So she got, she found something on the Internet or somewhere, I
don't know where she got it, but it was called ATV allowance
where you plug the TV into it and then you kind of literally
lock the plug into it and you plug it into the wall and it
goes to the TV and everything. And you could have like 4
different accounts on and you're allotted like an hour of TV time
in genre. So my sister had one, I had one,
my two of my brothers had an account on it and we all had
like an hour each day. Wow, TV time.
I did not. Oh, I didn't even know that that
was. No, yeah, it was insane and it
was because my brother downstairs mother fucker like he
was you you've seen him. He was he's a gamer, definitely
a right through a gamer. OK, so like he would be like
before we got it, he he would wake up at like 3-4 in the
morning and go downstairs and play like PS2 and it was just
wild. He was like how he is today
honestly but just like more more invested back then because he
was a kid and yada. Yeah, I never, I never did the
gaming a lot. I did the Pokémon, anything
Pokémon and Mario. I was.
There Pokémon was great I. Was just more, I was just more
into like the Nickelodeon cartoons anyways.
So yeah, so like, I missed all of the routine shows on
Nickelodeon because by then I was already into Disney.
They had a little bit. They had way better preteen.
Shows. And movies than Nickelodeon did
Nickelodeon cartoons all the way they they cartoons they lacked
they tried it. It didn't hit like Nickelodeon
cartoons. They they were The Pioneers of
kid cartoons 100% Nickelodeon cartoons were way better and
Cartoon Network had decent cartoons right?
How dare you? I just.
They had decent, I just. Never I never.
Took. I never took to the Cartoon
Network one except Scooby's Scooby, Scooby Scooby.
Cartoon Network Scooby. So since we're on a Cartoon
Network, before you dismiss on, I'll go through a list of my
favorite cartoon networks. OK, so Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Yes, I did forget about him. I do like courage too.
Yes, Billy and Mandy, Billy and I never.
Even heard of that. One, it's like the two kids who
like, see the grim Reaper and everything.
Yes, I do remember a funny, cute grim Reaper.
Yeah, that was the, what was the name of it?
Billy and Mandy. I guess I can kind of remember
that. And then Foster's home for
imaginary friends. No, I fool with that one.
That 1 was great. It was literally like so no
idea. So when you get old, you know
how when you're kids you have imaginary friends?
Like an imaginary figure. No, I was sane.
Good for you. Well, to the rest of us mentally
unstable people, we had like an imaginary friend and this show
kind of like took that. And I was like, OK, so once you
hit a like a certain age, you kind of like don't remember your
imaginary friend anymore or you forget they're there.
So they go and they're in foster care.
Your imaginary friend goes to foster care.
What were they heating you as a kid?
Were they slipping into your bottle?
I don't know. Jack No, it was probably like
absinthe. I've never had true absence.
I've had the American. It's illegal, I know.
That's why you'd have to go to like London or something to
actually get it. I need some absence for the
state of the union that we just had.
Oh dear God, we'll get that out. So like we still have like we
still got like 15 minutes before we could get into that.
Was I'm meeting my political time?
I mean, you said 10 minutes, 72, I know so.
But anyways, back to cartoons. So you your turn, Nickelodeon.
SpongeBob. Yes.
SpongeBob was a big one. Can I say my favorite episode?
Fairly Odd Parents. I have to do Fairly Odd.
Can we talk about Fairly Odd Parents?
Funny. You know, I might have spent my
whole life trying to get that theme song down.
I still can't get it. Really.
It's the best theme song ever and I still can't get it down.
I got it unlock. Then do it for us.
I mean, I need was an advocate does.
The no one understand I'm not gonna.
I'm not. Gonna say that no.
No, the hard part is when is. Just going through the list of
blue. Chocolate shake early snake, get
some cake. That part, it gets so hard.
I could. I'm 35 years old.
I've been trying to get that theme song done.
I still can't do it. Funny enough, that's all that
actually came out in like 2004. Come to find out, they did.
That OK. So that's actually, it's funny
you mentioned that specific year, because Rihanna came out
with Panda Replay around that time.
She did and I remember seeing Panda Replay.
I think that was her first. I thought it was Umbrella.
Was her first Panda Replay was way before that.
She was like a kid when she didn't 16.
Yeah, she was young. And I remember seeing 2004 the
she came, she came out with that song.
I thought, man, I just really felt like she was came out.
Hey, earlier than that. She didn't she was mid 2000s
actually. I mean, she we I thought I was
thinking same time as Britney, like 1989.
No, Britney was waiting for Rihanna.
Yeah, Rihanna came way, actually a little later.
I mean, but if anything, she did it right.
Rihanna, like, she came out with a few singles and then she like
is entrepreneurial like. She had great music though.
Yeah, exactly. She came out like great #1.
It was. It was like top charts after hit
after hit with Rihanna. She didn't have any controversy.
She really didn't have. I don't remember anything there
was the only. Controversy she had is with A$AP
Rocky. Well, because she was like,
they're dating slash. Together, she didn't.
She didn't have any. I wouldn't say it's just
controversy, but she did get hit by Chris Brown and I feel like
people people still overlooked that he beat the shit out of
her. He did.
He really Did. He really.
Did that and I really feel like everyone overlooked.
That do you want to know? OK so Speaking of him hitting
her do you know that's how she came up with what's my name?
Cuz he hit her so hard she got what her name was really.
Yeah, that was that was the origin of that song.
What's my name? Cuz he was fucking that's.
Awful. But a lot of these songs, they
have horrific, horrible, horrific origin stories, Yeah.
Did you, Oh, sorry, going back to cartoons.
Rugrats that's that's the subject.
Rugrats absolutely. I had Rugrats everything.
I had everything. I any game that Rugrats came out
with, my mom took me to all the movies.
I mean, I remember she would like call us in that day or we
have snow day or whatever. We would go to the movies.
It was a whole day event. We got it was Rugrats were a big
thing and and why was it that they were the only ones that
like had the copyright to orange VHS's?
Why were the rugs they really were?
Why were the Rugrats orange VHS's always they were the only
ones. There was no other colored VHS
white ones. Remember.
Oh, maybe there would have been a few white ones, but not maybe.
But the Rugrats specifically had the Nickelodeon orange on them.
They did. That was actually probably the
biggest cartoon of Nickelodeon until spongy came.
Sure, yellow spongy came. It's so sad to well I mean they
had a few other like fluffers but like I will say Rugrats has
the saddest origin. Story.
It does. I think I know what you're
talking about. I've read, it's all I've read.
The conspiracy theory all in Angelica's head.
It's all Angelica's head. It was started.
It was supposed to be like a suspense thriller movie of a
child that is making up personalities in her head or
something like that. So essentially Angelica like so
Tommy was a stillborn. Yes, in real life I do know what
I've read all this. Chucky's interesting.
Like Chucky's dad, they lost his wife in a car accident, which is
why he's always so friends. And he doesn't have a mom in the
show because she. Died because of a car accident.
Yeah. Yeah.
And then the twins, that mom had a miscarriage, and she never
found out if it was a boy or a girl.
So she made, like, up for both. So Phil and Dill.
And then Susie, who was Susie? Susie was the best friend,
right? See.
Yeah, Susie was. I think she was the only like.
She was the baby, she was the baby's friends, and she was
Angelica's. Angelica's like arch nemesis.
No, they were like, they were like good and evil because Susie
was like the hero for the babies.
Oh yeah, she would step in and she was like place of reason.
Which isn't jealous. Yeah, you're right.
OK. He's like, oh that was a long
winded way to say she's the voice of reason.
And then her fucking. I mean, what's her doll's name?
Susie no, the I'm sorry. Cynthia.
Cynthia. Cynthia.
She the doll. Could you guys tell this is
Cynthia? Like it just looks at this
Cynthia like Cynthia's. I always make a sinister name.
The hair always cracked me up. I mean now with it was like all
these like sectioned off like chunk big chunks of hair, but
then there was like 1 chunk that was like too wiry little like it
was so funny. She was weird Barbie.
Yeah, she was weird. Barbie on crack.
It was like Barbie on crack. Barbie was a crack whore.
It was. Cynthia OK, so more cartoons.
Hey Arnold's another. One.
Yeah, that one was OK. Wild Thornberries.
That was a good one, yes. That was great.
I love the Australian news. That was a good one.
I actually forgot about that one until you said that one, because
that one brought adventure as a kid.
All of a sudden you're in Africa.
All of a sudden you're floating in the Pacific all of a sudden
and I forgot, Okay, it's the girl from.
Mean Girls Lacey Chabert Lacey Chabert is Eliza Thornberry.
I don't think a lot of people know that, no.
But she is. Gretchen from Mean Girls.
Yeah, that's her. That was her the whole time.
Yeah. I had no idea Tim Curry was
Nigel. I know Tim Curry was.
Did he die recently, Tim Curry? Or is he just desperate?
Like, desperately sick, I think. I forget if he's, like, dead or
anything. I don't.
Good question. No, I heard something on him.
I thought he died. No, he's still.
I don't know. Let's find out.
Tim Curry. Tim Curry?
I mean, I applaud him every day of the week.
OK, I think it was a stroke. And I'm 79.
But anyways, yeah, no, The Wild Thornberrys was a good one.
I actually did forget about that one.
It's. He's still alive, according to.
Yeah, he had like a stroke or something and it's not very good
for him. But I mean, hey, what a legacy.
But so wait. But what 1 was your favorite
though again? I don't think I have your.
Favorite on Nickelodeon You didn't have a Nickelodeon
cartoon Favorite I. Mean there's so many cuz there's
also Danny Phantom. Then there was Jimmy Neutron.
Jimmy Neutron OK, so my hair, if I grow it out long enough, it
naturally does the Jimmy Neutron.
Like this dynamic ice cream color soup?
It does and I did the Jimmy Neutron all throughout like the
early 20s. You might have to pull up
pictures and then yes, just to make it even worse, I put the
blonde streak in it. I know it was so popular in the
2010. It really was.
The blonde streak. Either had a blonde streak or
blonde tips. That blonde tips would have been
more 90's, the blondes 2000s. I guess it did leak into the
2000s, but the blonde streak would have been 2010 and then
all. But that's because of like all
the girls on Christina Aguilera had a fucking zebra stripes in
their hair. Yes, 100%.
That was the definitely the skunk stripes almost it was
really bad zebra stripes and it was dark, dark black hair with
blonde, with blonde orange. My mom is cringing right now.
My mom's hair stylish. She's she's cringing right now.
She's listening to this, thinking back to the horrible,
the 2000s. Thank you, Christina Aguilera,
because she would literally have people sit down in her chair and
fix their Kardashian black hair. Oh no, and say I want blonde.
Streaks. They had no idea.
They had no idea that they she. Charged the charged the shit out
of them. She should have because she she
charged so much for that, because it.
Took at least four different processes, if you even.
Had any hair left afterwards? Yeah.
I mean, it was hours on hours. I don't even think she can she
do it all in one sitting. No, because it would have made
their. Hair fall out because you dye it
once and it turns orange. You can't really or bleach it,
you're actually bleaching. I thought you're allowed to
bleach it like twice and then you have to like give it a
break? I remember bleaching my hair
twice trying to do the blonde streak and the blonde streak
started falling out after the second one.
So I would not recommend bleach. I would give it a rest after
one. End story but hold on I'm giving
hair advice I know. And if you do have black hair
and you are a dyeing it blonde be sure to tone it.
Keep in mind you need a toner. You really do always need a
toner to pull out that. Biciness and you look like a
clown. And it's horrible.
People are like, oh, look at my blonde hair.
You look like a clown. You could stand up next to a
trombone and look bald. I mean, that's how ugly some of
this brassiness turns out. Yeah, really.
Speaking of falling out, so there's this.
One day I bleach my hair and I accidentally fell asleep with
the bleach on. Ouch.
Yeah, that's that's beyond hair falling out.
That's like, no? 3rd degree chemical.
No it literally so I felt like the craft oh like just it just
kept falling out in chunks like there was no coming back.
There was no saving it. So I just pulled Brittany.
I know I I've kind of had a similar incident trying to
bleach my hair. You have to be careful you do.
Factor shows nasty classified school survival guide.
Nope, no idea, never watched that one.
It was great. Was that a that was?
That was a live action. That was live action.
So it was basically like it was, I don't know how to describe it.
It was literally like a kid going through middle school
giving advice like how to survive school.
Yeah, I got, I got nothing on that one.
I just watched. It that was good.
It was one of my favorites. Then Drake and Josh Zoe, 101.
No, no, not still no. These are all the preteen
Nickelodeon shows. I was watching Disney.
I, you know, and, and I have to really, I really do feel bad
about the whole Shia LaBeouf thing that he is kind of going
through the, the Britney 2007 phase of his life right now,
because that actually was my favorite show.
Christy Carlson Romano and Steven Steven, yes, even Steven
was easily my favorite Disney show back then.
Was it? It really was.
And I that's another show I've watched as I've gotten older and
it doesn't. It doesn't hold.
On it doesn't hit the same. It's just so too juvenile.
It's too corny. Very corny for kids, but it was
so funny back then. That was actually the show that
got me into wanting to watch Disney.
Yeah, that Channel. Yeah, I started watching, even
see this. I was like, Oh my gosh, Disney's
so much better. And then that's so Raven came
out with. I mean that's so Raven.
Was it popped? She watched.
That's where I can pop she. Owned.
Disney Channel suite life is like in Cody love suite life's
suite life is like in Cody was a good one.
Let's see what else is there. I'm sorry I only did like my
research on Nickelodeon cartoon number not necessarily Disney.
I will say Phineas and Ferb and it was a later like later 2000s
but they held up. I will say also Kim Possible
with my jam. I gave Kim Possible a try
because it is Christy Carlson Romano that was in that.
Show my text tone is the communicator beep beep beep beep
beep beep. And I always wanted a nick and
mole rat. I always want our hairless
hamster. I mean, you can you?
It's one good one. Never.
Mind never say anything. I mean, you kind of are, you
kind of are Nick and Mole because you're hairless.
I am a naked mole rat. Kind of because you're a
hairless twink. What?
But that's what is What is that? That what would be the gay term
for that hairless twink is just a twink.
Yeah, I mean, and I guess you know what, a naked mole rat.
I don't really like that comparison.
Can we think of something better please?
No, I mean we have mine, which is a fucking coyote Mangy Wolf.
I'm. Beyond words I this was not in
the itinerary today it. Wasn't it was non they're.
Ourselves to animals. No, it was not.
They actually had, I forgot who it was.
It was Justin something. And like Katya Jamalochikova,
they were going over the zoo. Like the zoo wildlife in
comparison to the gay. The gay There's a whole spectrum
I know there. Is there's meerkats?
There's drafts Giraffes, the giraffe one.
There's the. Tall guys with long necks.
There's wolves. Yeah.
Yeah, like a silver kind of wolf.
Daddy. Yeah.
Bears, Cubs, otters, all that fun jazz.
I guess we're just twunks. We don't really get like an
animal. Do we, I mean what did Punk be
viewers or? Caddies.
Help us out and. Punk's gonna be caddies.
I mean like now or. Felines though, I mean, I'm cool
with being a cat, honestly, because I'm I don't know how
many lives. Can you use the litter box?
No, because I have so many lives.
Like I should be dead by mail honestly.
I I feel that actually I should be done.
Like how am I still here? Exactly, I should be dead.
Like after 2 motorcycle accidents I should be dead.
Well, we all should have been dead after the State of the
Union because I think we're running into that time.
We need to talk about this horrible high octane award show
known as our State of the Union. All right, go for it, I mean.
This was ridiculous. Do you know that, Miss?
Sorry, I know this was last week, but Miss Pam Bondi might
be going to prison. Well, yeah, she should.
That reminds me, I had been hearing a lot lately.
Nixon did not go to prison. No, he did not his.
Attorney General, did I know she lied?
Underoath. She's a joke, but we're not here
to talk. About no, we did that last week.
We already gave Pam Bondi. Yeah, we need to talk about the
state of the evening to end the show.
Go for it. I really want to get the.
Well it was just like I said, it was a high octane award so it
was just all theatrics. I haven't seen such bad
theatrics since a late night infomercial tried to sell me a
self cleaning toaster. I'm sorry, a self cleaning
toaster. I didn't have to start to laugh.
So late, so late. That's funny.
I. Thought of that all of.
Me, you did. So there was no actual, so there
was no infomercial about a self cleaning toaster.
Maybe we can just study. No, I've got to keep it now.
Anyways, so I haven't seen such bad theatrics.
However, what we did see was a bunch of empty seats.
A lot of Congress people did not show up for this.
And I have mixed feelings on. I know exactly.
I have mixed feelings on that, actually.
I mean, that's fair. I understand.
OK, This is my Gemini nature of two people in my brain fighting
back and forth. I it's very hard for me to
decide on anything because I can see the both sides of every art.
Of the night. See, do you know what's crazy?
Because I'm a Sagittarius and I still have a very difficult time
making decisions because I would just keep going back and forth
between all the options. That's But see, with Gemini's,
we really do kind of have two people in our head going back
and forth all the time. If you only have two.
It's very hard. If you only have two then I have
like 50. I don't think that's a strategy.
No, it's not. It's multiple personality.
To hold on. I mean, it's it helps if you
name him. It helps if you name.
Him, you and Trump maybe. You think I'll see the same cop
server? No, no.
Hey, he'd have the best of the best, at least.
You know, then they would all die out of conspiracy for
suicide or something. I don't know.
But no, I'm cool. Anyways, getting back to this
awful State of the Union. I mean, this was just
celebrating violence, racism, and just a bunch of untrue
facts. And everyone on the news is
saying like, why isn't he fact checked?
Why isn't he fact checked? How do you Fact Check this when
it is literally every single sentence?
There is no fact checking. You just have to know that he's.
It's all a lie. Nothing's true.
I mean, at this point, I don't, I mean, I don't trust anything
that comes out of Bondi. I don't trust anything out of
none of them. I've never trusted Trump's first
session in office like I didn't. I've never trusted him in all
honesty. Now, granted, there's some
things that he did say in the First Presidency where I was
like, OK, let's hear him out. But everything since then it's
been no, I don't, I don't feature it.
I don't entertain it. I'm sorry man.
Apparently this is the golden time for America.
Didn't you know? This is the this is the best
time to be an American. I want to know how.
I want to know what is what is making this the golden era?
What? How is he putting American first
like he like he claims, by shooting them in the streets?
For this. For them to be doing, practicing
their First Amendment right to protest, actually they're
cutting their health, cutting their healthcare.
They're trying to filter out the 1st Amendment.
They're trying to literally monitor everyone's freedom of
speech on social media. It's just clear fascism,
obviously. I mean, it was just all
bullshit. You can't trust anything the
guys saying, but just, you know, you know, like shooting people,
cutting health care, making us pay for their for their taxes or
tariffs, not taxes, tariffs. Like where is the golden age,
$1000 more a month Families have spent the sorry, $1000 more a
year. Last year we spent because of
these tariffs. Yeah.
And now there's like $200 million, $1,000,000 out there.
What do you do with it now? These tariffs were absolutely
necessary, taken out of play. Well, they were taken out of
play by the Supreme Court recently.
But you know who is getting richer, though?
You know, this is the golden time for billionaires.
And Trump is actually about $4 billion richer from all of us.
I'm not surprised I'm making deal after deal with shitty
people and 60% of Americans are just completely disapproved with
any of those inflation, tariffs, economy, immigration,
everything. But they voted for him.
I know and I, I at this point you just have to look in the
mirror and say you got duped. And, and if and if you aren't
saying that at this point, we know it.
You don't have to say it. We, we just, we know it.
I mean, unless they're wearing like unless you are a multi
$1,000,000 with a Maggie hat, it's you're not benefiting from
anything that that Trump one administration has been doing.
One in four Americans can barely afford their utility bills.
And I live by myself. Yes, you do.
I have you know, I don't have roommates.
I have two lazy little cats that just kind of lay around and
drive me nuts some days. Like I my utility bill is
outrageous. Like I don't understand how a
family of four. How much is your water bill?
My water bill is nothing. My water bill is absolutely not.
And the power? The power is what is what's up
there, and I know I do have an electric car too.
So that would have like added like that.
I thought that would have doubled your electricity.
It doesn't. It doesn't double because I work
from home so I don't have to drive as much.
Still pay 200 bucks a month for electricity.
And I haven't really, it's been actually rather nice here in
Nashville. So I haven't really had to turn
on any heat or air conditioning or anything.
I still pay like 200. So OK, if I'm one person paying
two, OK, so the, the car probably adds an extra 30-40
bucks a month with the how much I drive.
So let's say 160, sure, hey, that's 160 per person, a family
of three and four. I mean, like, I don't know how
these people are are affording their groceries or utility
bills. And they're not.
That's the. Problem.
That's. Yeah, one in four people can
barely afford it, 25% of the of the country can barely afford
it, and they don't even know how well the other 75% we're doing.
Oh, probably. They're the ones that are
homeless. They're the ones that are in the
streets. Unfortunately, sadly, they're
the ones in foster care. They're the ones getting eaten
by Eckstein. We all know where they're at.
The bulk of this speech was just all domestic policy when it came
to prices. It's just here's what I've done
and that nothing. What I was going to do, just
nothing. It was just here.
Absolutely theatrics. I did like the Democratic
response though. They finally, finally, finally
took one out of Trump's books because at the last election,
Trump pretty much went around and just campaigned, you know,
off of economy, affordability, whatever, which he's done
nothing to help. But he duped the people by
asking what have Democrats done for you?
Are you better off than you were four years ago?
And everything. He just these questions really
getting into their heads about what?
How are you feeling? Personalizing it a little bit.
You know which what? They need to.
OK, well Trump did that last time and it worked.
And finally, finally, the Democrats are asking the same
thing in the Democratic response.
They you just have to fight fire with it at this point with fire.
I mean, OK, yeah, sure, fire with fire, I get it.
But I. You have to go.
We have to go low. We just, I mean, if they're
gonna go, if they're gonna go low, we have to go to hell and
like attack that way. No, that's what I'm saying.
Like I'm sorry, Michelle Obama. Like we go you, they, we go
high, they go low. He he ha ha.
No, we need to go so low that we scrape the top flames of hell.
Why only the top? We're only the top of the.
Well, I don't want to go to hell.
We're gay. Just almost there.
We're gay. We're gonna go.
Only if you believe him. We're gonna go anyway.
I mean all the party people go to hell.
I don't want to go to heaven where all the sober like like
Bible beaters are that's. No, hell sounds way more fun.
I totally agree. Actually I think Satan could be.
I think he's he could be kind. Of hot, supposedly.
I bet he's daddy. If he's Super Daddy, if he's
anything like Tom Ellis's on the show, Lucifer, I'm for it.
Yeah, I'm for it. Not far off.
I'm for it, not far off. But also like I just supposedly
there's been like theories and like that he might be more of
like Androgy kind of. I really need to go back and
watch that show too. I have seen Lucifer.
He's so. Hot.
I love it. I will say someone.
Told me he I looked like him one time and I was like oh thank.
You. Were they on Just go with it?
OK, just go I'm. Curious what kind of drugs they
were on, but anyway, that's some.
Damn good ones. But yeah, it was a really good
show that kind of like actually replaced my CSI obsession when
it ended, which. One are you talking about?
Lucifer. Yeah.
Replaced my CSI obsession like the OG CSI like crime scene
investigation. The one was based in Vegas.
When that ended, that one kind of like took place for it.
Who is who was that guy? What was his name?
Tom Ellis. Tom Ellis?
Yes, that you did mention that. I kept thinking you said you
were saying I think. Oh yes, thought you were.
I thought you were when you said Tom Ellis.
I was picturing Tom Holland. 2 Completely different people 1's.
Daddy One's child. Yes 2 completely Oh damn, he is
oh Tom Ellis, please come back to TV.
Tom Ellis, if he's listening, I'm.
Pretty sure he is. He's on something.
He's on. What is he on?
I don't know. Where it now?
Oh, tell me lies. Yeah.
He's supposedly, I don't know, I would need to look at his
wikiHow, but like he's like 63. Just the like I'm like almost
50. Just the most perfect human
being. Like almost 50 he's.
Got some grey scruff now coming in like.
The audacity of looking that good.
So what would he be under the the game spectrum of?
Animals. I feel like he'd be right now.
He's going to like salt and pepper Fox.
No, he'd be a wolf. He'd be he's going into a wolf.
He's he's a wolf. He's going into Wolf.
He is a wolf. He can eat any day.
Anyways, sorry, that was well, that was that was, that was my
political update. I always like around at least a
little bit of a political update.
I like to let the people know what's going on.
We love that now. So I think I did 2 truths and
all it. Is definitely my turn.
So it's your turn. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
wait. I'm so glad we got the
soundboard to work. Once we can listen back to it,
it's not even there. Listeners, I'm sorry if the
soundboard doesn't work then we're still working on that,
but. But it should be there.
We're getting. We're getting there.
We tested it. We tested it.
It should be there. So for my 2 truths and a lie I
am, I'm going to stick to sitcoms specifically on Sure
Ready. Yeah, yeah.
No, I'm not. I'm.
I'm up here a little busy. I'm updating my Facebook.
There's something going on my Facebook right now.
Walk upstairs, Facebook says. I haven't heard that phrase in
forever. That's.
Exactly my point. Go start with your two truths.
I can't stand the Nanny because of Fran Drescher's voice.
Real. Quick, how dare you.
But OK, proceed. So I can't stand the Nanny
because of Fran Drescher. 'S voice.
I really hope that's the lie. My mom would not let me watch
Married with Children. Yeah, OK.
My favorite sitcom of all time is Golden Girls.
So I think Golden Girls is the truth.
I also think that your mom not letting you watch that one show
is the truth. I really hope The Nanny 1 is a
lie because I don't know if I would be able to continue this
podcast with you if that is not if that's like, if that's the
truth. I Miami, it's way too easy for
you. Oh, was I accurate?
And actually, he's very accurate.
I love the nanny and I could care less about her actually.
I really don't understand why people hate Fran Jester's voice
so much. If you left off that second
part, if you just said I don't like the nanny, it probably
would have been a lot more believable.
But because you're under the voice, I was like, there's no
way. There's no way.
There's a lot of people that hate her voice.
Oh, I know. And they will not watch that
show. I I it is one of the funny.
It's supposed to be kind of a remake.
I Love Lucy in a way too. Yeah, cuz they actually recreate
some of those scenes. He's the successful businessman
kind of and she's like crazy screw up wife that just
eventually, eventually. So I know I love the nanny.
I actually still watch it sometimes.
Did you? Me too reruns I really did late
night. And I don't think people knew
that Golden Girls and the Nanny kind of go hand in hand because
growing up it was always on lifetime.
You remember that Channel that was just for women.
That was literally how can we like scare the shit out of women
So they have so their mom. My God, it was a whole channel
about. Four women about how to kill
women anyways. I'll never understand that part
I. Know it was like 4 women talking
about how they're gonna kill all their husbands or it.
Was accidentally there was so much on lifetime, but it was all
like death and destruction and just I just anyways, that was
the funniest thing about that show.
But Golden Girls would always come on and then Nanny was
always on after. So like those two like kind of
go hand in hand just back then when, you know, everyone
actually watched on cable TV and satellite TV and whatnot.
But no, I definitely, but and then my mom wouldn't, she did
not like I said, she didn't censor us really from a whole
lot there. It was pretty much just married
with children. She did not like the dynamics
between Al and Peg and he treated her.
He treated her like shit. And you blame.
Her. He was an awful chauvinistic
male pig husband. There was this one, so it's love
on the spectrum. Hi.
And there was this one episode. I forgot who it was.
It was like it was James. He's talking to his parents and
the dad goes like happy wife, happy life.
And he's like, well actually happy spouse, happy house.
And I was like, you go, James. I like that so much more.
Yes, I've never, I've never heard that one.
That one is a good one. So I was like applauding him.
Yeah. So no, Married to the Children
was like the actual one show that she really deserves.
She's really put her foot down on that one.
And yeah, like watching it as an adult, like it's no dirtier, you
know, than any other sitcom on, like, innuendos, little sex
talk, whatever, sex jokes, whatever.
But no, there was none of that. It was none of that with my mom.
It was just. It was the fact that he was a.
He was a he was a belligerent, chauvinistic prick to his wife
and she just did not want her boys.
With that influence, yeah, I mean good, good reason.
No, she that was the only show. Whenever she heard the log I
hear footsteps coming down the stairs and she turned it off
every time. It never failed.
I will say though, that their opening theme song was actually
kind of camp iconic. It is.
It was camp. I liked it.
I like it so much. Yeah, camp like was campy.
I don't. I've never heard that term.
Please scold me. Don't let.
You never heard of camp? No, I'm, it was, it was a theme.
I'm older than you, but as you like to point out, you know all
the time. It was literally like camp was a
theme to a Met Gala one time. So where's our circuit?
Where's the cricket? We don't have crickets.
I want crickets. I want, remember I said I wanted
crickets. We don't have bump, bump, bump.
I mean, we have gunshots. We have gunshots and fucking
like Ding. Killing each other.
I mean, with these jokes, just kidding, no, but like camp is
literally. So basically the description of
camp is like pick an object and then times 10.
So if you like are thinking of like this is so.
New to you, I've never heard this one.
Are you sure you didn't? Just like no dead ass.
I'm being dead ass. I'm just now starting to pick
out a pick up and this is a culture too that I'm just now
starting to pick up that younger kids say that time.
We need to save this for next episode.
Just a whole band. I have a whole that.
I started saying it back and I feel like that old guy trying to
be young, cool and hip. I have an entire I.
Have. I have, I have to vent.
I have an entire spiel on like the lingo these days, like I'm
so sorry. We're going to do a next episode
because I could just keep going. And I think we are.
We're coming up on our end here. Yes, we are so.
But anyways, camp one second. I'm making sure I'm reading the
right description. See, if we were in the Midwest,
it would be camp. You got to have that Chicago
accent too. Then we go camping.
We don't go camping. We go camping.
You got it there. Did you get pulled?
I need I need an explanation and you can't just throw that out
there without any facts. So basically, no, shut up.
I didn't. I wasn't prepared for those.
Sacks. Damn it, I wasn't prepared.
For this, so basically camp is a, you take something that's
like, we'll say like a glove. I'm using an example from the
Mcgalla. So you know how like satin
gloves Royer used way back when there was this one drag queen,
her name's Violet Chosky. Hi Violet.
She literally the dress that she wore to the Mcgalla was a
ginormous glove and the train was the fingers.
So it's like taking something and exaggerating it by like 10
and it's camp. So how a lot of these gay guys
for Halloween did try to be the brawny guy from the paper towels
and the lace wear asshole visible cut off shorts with one
piece of tartan and I'm the brawny guy.
That's camp. I'm even more confused than
English. It reminds me also of the term
yeet that like the young kid Gen.
Z says to yeet no. I have a shirt that a friend
gave to me. He's like he's like 2021 from
college last year. Miles hi Miles.
He actually, the shirt says eat, sleep, yeet, repeat and I still
don't know what yeet. Means it sounds like it's
supposed to be a yeast infection.
It or it sounds like ski and we all know what that means.
That's where we should end and. On that.
Though we're done, we're done. Bye everyone, have a goodbye.
Everyone to see you next week, I hope you all had a great
weekend. Oh my God.
All right, bye. I'm over.
There, yeast, you said yeast. I mean I did yeast infection.
So stupid.
